Newcastle United have now agreed a £38million deal with Aston Villa for midfielder Jacob Ramsey, according to the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope.
The 24-year-old is travelling to Tyneside later this afternoon and will begin his medical this evening ahead of completing the move.
Ramsey, a product of Villa’s academy, has made more than 100 senior appearances for the club and has been capped by England at youth level.
The signing comes as a boost for Eddie Howe’s side amid continued uncertainty over the future of striker Alexander Isak at St James’ Park.
