Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025.

Were it not for Conor McGregor’s big toe incident, I would fully understand Dana White’s logic here. After that pullout, however, can we really still trust a 37-year-old McGregor to show up after all these years away?

It’s been a couple years now, is Derek Brunson allowed to bring up having COVID-19 when he faced DDP? That’s wild behavior if true.

This is generally meaningless in regards to the specific Khamzat vs. Du Plessis match up, but these are very interesting statistics! UFC consistently want an undefeated champion and are keen to push potentially ill-prepared prospects into that opportunity, so the overall negative outcome does make sense.

UFC 319 foes Tim Elliott and Kai Asakura are keeping it friendly ahead of what will surely be a chaotic fight. Love to see it!

Perhaps I’m being negative or old-fashioned, but I feel like posting the exchange on social media removes the niceness from the act.

Have you been victimized by the Kevin Holland despair triangle? I know I have.

Who should Josh Emmett face in his return? I like the theorized Patricio Pitbull fight.

Slips, rips, and KO clips

George Foreman throwing massive bombs with both hands:

Sneaky, sneaky way to put a shin upside somebody’s head.

Per Google, Pacu Jalur is an annual boat-racing festival in Indonesia.
