Zerrouki initially joined Feyenoord from Twente for a fee of around seven million euros in 2023. However, things haven’t quite panned out at De Kuip so far, and the club and player have sought a solution. Twente are now bringing Zerrouki back to Enschede.
This is a loan transfer with no option to buy included in the deal, meaning Zerrouki will definitely return to De Kuip next year. His contract in Rotterdam runs until 2027. This move seemingly looks to give Zerrouki more playing time, and the chance to regain the confidence that enabled his move to Feyenoord in the first place.
So far, Zerrouki has played 65 times for Feyenoord in all competitions, but has seen recent squad involvement limited due to a leg injury in January and more in-form players in his position. Last season, he started just 12 of his 22 games in the Eredivisie.
